Perspectives from Local Media Specialists and ELA Instructors on Graphic Novels in the Middle Grades Curriculum

Given the notion that graphic novels have potential for instruction, this study examines questions: In what ways do local media specialists and English Language Arts (ELA) instructors use them in their classrooms or other educational settings? If novels, how students respond to them? Have they experienced criticisms concerning of as texts worthy analysis exploration classroom? Finally, is connection between research qualitative study, authors examined 14 responses from ELA working schools southeastern Tennessee. Additionally, reviewed literature related each these questions.
